This exhibit will follow the build-up of the election of Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential election. Including controversy over Reverend Wright, society during the election, and the political world. In hopes to represent and educate on an era of America that impacts society today. 

2016 Election Shock

The United States was shocked by the election of Donald Trump however it may be difficult for someone who experienced the election cycle to explain to someone who did not why it was so unusual. The purpose of this exhibit is to capture in stone critical moments for understanding this polarizing time period.

The right to free speech is a fundamental right that separates the United States from other countries worldwide. As shown in today’s world, the right to free speech empowers not only activists but all citizens to speak out in times of crisis verbally and nonverbally. In today’s sports world, athletes have taken advantage of this right and have sought to speak up in times of crisis. The exhibit's goal is to showcase that athletes have the qualifications and platform to speaking out in times of crisis.

City of Cars: An Examination of Los Angeles’s Transportation Systems Throughout Time explores the city’s transition from electric streetcars to freeways as a main transportation system. Focusing on the cityscape between 1887–2022, City of Cars presents a range of sources to examine the impact of these changing transportation mediums.
